How It's Made
From Plastic to Perfect
Each Statemint wallet starts as post-consumer plastic which is processed into GRS certified fiber that we then weave, print and finish. The GRS is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.
Post-consumer plastic waste is collected and sorted.
Bottles are washed, chopped and grinded into flake.
Flake is melted and turned into small spheres called chip.
Chip is melted and spun into fiber ready to be woven.
Fiber Becomes Fashion
Once fiber is created, it's woven into finished fabric that we then bring to life with a specialized printing process adding vibrant colors and patterns.
Putting It All Together
Once our fabric is printed, it’s off to cut and sew. Rolls of fabric are cut into pieces using pattern templates. From there, each wallet is handcrafted for quality and durability.
